Description
The rocky shores of Kolovesi National Park echo only the sounds of wilderness, as motor boating is prohibited in the breeding area of the Saimaa ringed seal. Embark on a canoeing trip and launch your canoe from the Kääkönveden or Kirkkoranta launch points.
There are thirteen camping areas, and Mäntysalo and Huhtiniemi even have rental cabins. The alternation of open waters and narrow straits adds variety to your journey. The wall of the majestic Ukonvuori features a rock painting depicting a human figure, similar paintings have been found on the rock walls of Havukkavuori and Vierunvuori.
Joutenvesi is almost entirely a nature reserve, and there are no camping sites. Temporary camping is allowed except in restricted areas.
