The Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official ecolabel in the Nordic region, established by national authorities to provide consumers and purchasers with environmental information. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is a comprehensive labeling scheme that evaluates environmental problems in their entire life cycle. Only goods and services that meet the ambitious climate, chemical, biodiversity and circular economy requirements are certified. In doing so, the Nordic Swan Ecolabel makes it easy to make more environmentally friendly choices.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is a type 1 environmental label. This means that certification looks at the entire life cycle of the product. Therefore, the requirements have to be revised periodically so that they are ambitious – but also achievable for the best producers.
