Vandra i Kolmården from Calazo förlag is a book that describes 33 highly varied tours spread out in a swath from Sörsjön and Ågelsjön in the west to Nyköping in the east. The majority are day trips ranging from four kilometers to two ten-kilometer distances, but suggestions for a serious multi-day hike of 46 km are also provided.

The mythical forests of Kolmården harbor some of the finest hikes in central Sweden. Here, the paths lead up high fault escarpments and through deep ravines. You will pass abandoned mills, quarries, and small-scale mines. Many of the hikes bring you close to water – whether it’s the ever-present Bråviken or a secluded forest pond deep in the woods.

Each map in this book comes with a QR code. Scan the code with your phone camera and you can easily follow the tour suggestion on your phone.

The authors, Lovisa Bergström and Adam Rindeskär, have been working on the book for several years. They often return to Kolmården where Lovisa has been hiking since she was a child. They previously wrote the popular book Hiking in Stockholm Part 2 (Calazo 2022).
